For the most part, the flowers I paint are from my garden. I grew up surrounded by bouquets of flowers in every room. The flowers I love the most are the ones that I would term as “friendly flowers”. Sunflowers, Zinnias, Peonies, Daisies and Lillies, for example, seem friendly to me. I try to arrange my florals casually in a way that captures a scene from a day’s picking out of the garden.
